"The Banshees of Inisherin"

Back in the year 2021, I found myself embarking on a thrilling adventure into the world of film production. Little did I know, this opportunity would lead me to be a part of something much larger than I had ever imagined - "The Banshees of Inisherin”. I want to share some snaps of the incredible journey I had as a member of the DIT (Digital Imaging Technician) department on this amazing film. From the stunning landscapes of Inish Mor to the beauty of Achill Island, this nine-week journey was an experience of a lifetime.

For nine weeks, I was part of a dedicated team that worked tirelessly to bring "The Banshees of Inisherin" to life. With a demanding schedule of forty shoot days, every moment counted. Long days turned into nights, and yet, there was an undeniable energy on set that fueled our passion for the project.

As a member of the DIT department, I had the privilege of learning the technical aspects of filmmaking. One of the most valuable lessons I gained was the significance of color and Look-Up Table (LUT) workflow. The precision required to maintain consistent color grading across different scenes and shots was a meticulous process that revealed the intricate artistry behind the scenes. This experience not only enhanced my technical skills but also gave me a newfound appreciation for the attention to detail that goes into every frame.

Little did I know that my journey on "The Banshees of Insiern" would lead to a connection with greatness. The film's nine-time Oscar nomination was a testament to the collective dedication and talent poured into its creation. Being a part of this recognition was a humbling experience, one that affirmed the importance of every role in the filmmaking process, no matter how small it may seem.
