THE BOAT 2023
In the middle of 2022, I received an unexpected call from my friends Luke and Jake Morgan of the Morgan Brothers. Thinking it was just a routine tech question, I was pleasantly surprised when they invited me to join them on a remarkable journey—a narrative-based short film aimed at raising awareness about leprosy. They asked me to come on board as the cinematographer, and without hesitation, I eagerly embraced this thrilling opportunity.
Our destination was Nepal, a land known for its rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes. We spent an entire month immersing ourselves in the vibrant cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara, capturing the essence of the country while shedding light on the often-misunderstood condition of leprosy.
The adventure that unfolded was nothing short of extraordinary. From the bustling streets of Kathmandu to the tranquil beauty of Pokhara, every moment was filled with awe and inspiration. We encountered remarkable individuals along the way, whose stories added depth and authenticity to our film.
As a group, we poured our hearts and souls into this project, facing the challenges and triumphs together. The synergy we experienced as a team was unparalleled, as we shared a common passion for storytelling and creating meaningful art.
Looking back, I couldn't be prouder of what we accomplished. Our film became a powerful tool for raising awareness, shining a light on the lives affected by leprosy and fostering compassion and understanding. The experience we gained during those transformative weeks in Nepal will forever remain etched in our memories.
Beyond the remarkable achievement of the film itself, our time in Nepal was an adventure in its own right. The bonds we formed, the laughter we shared, and the countless stories we collected along the way have become the fabric of our friendship. It's the kind of journey that will keep us entertained and reminiscing for years to come.
